This Reason 5 Upgrade is for registered users of Reason 1-4 (retail and academic). If you happen to own Record 1.0 this upgrade also includes the FREE Record 1.5 Updater on the disc!

This is a must have upgrade for existing Reason users but Propllerhead Nirvana is only reached when using Reason 5 with Record 1.5. What should you buy if you already own Reason (1-4) but do not own Record 1.0? Buy the Reason 5 Upgrade and Record 1.5 for around fifty pounds more (see alternative product on this page). This will give you Record 1.5 in the box and your Reason 5 Upgrade upon registration with Propellerhead.

Version 5 brings the mighty Kong Drum Designer, a much-improved REX loop player, a whole new way of sequencing, live sampling and much, much more.

The new Kong Drum Designer and the Dr.OctoRex loop player extend Reason’s instrument arsenal to help you get phenomenal sounding rhythms, drums tracks and beats. With Kong you can build and play drum kits based on synthesis, sampling, REX loops or physical modeling.

Dr.OctoRex loads eight REX loops into one player and lets you switch between loops on the fly. Use it to build arrangements with chord progressions, fills and variations. Or use it for some serious loop bending.

Reason 5 adds a whole new mode of sequencing — Blocks. Build your songs parts like patterns, or blocks, and then string the blocks together in song mode for super fast arranging.

You can also combine Reason's classic sequencer with blocks and build complex and polished song productions. And there is more of course: Live sampling into all sample capable devices means you can work with samples in a new and playful manner and re-explore the lost art of sampling.

Reason's new song format lets you enclose all samples, even those from ReFills, in the song files, making collaboration with other Reason users even easier. Sci-fi grade multi core optimization, the practical on-screen keyboard and an even more expanded Factory Sound Bank is just the icing on the cake.
